Xiaomi has expanded its line of TV streaming devices with two new models — the Mi Box 5 and Mi Box 5 Max. Both devices run on Android and offer enhanced picture quality, AI-powered features, and advanced multimedia capabilities.
At the heart of both models is a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor paired with Mali-G310 V2 graphics, delivering smooth performance and solid multitasking. The standard Mi Box 5 comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the Mi Box 5 Max steps it up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, which should be more than enough for most streaming apps and tasks.

Both models support 4K video playback (3840×2160) and feature Xiaomi’s AI-SR image enhancement engine, which upscales lower-resolution content for improved sharpness and detail. They also support Dolby Vision, DTS:X, and 7.1.4-channel surround sound, providing a more immersive home theater experience.
Despite their capabilities, the devices remain compact — measuring just 97 × 97.1 × 17 mm and weighing under 100g. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, HDMI, USB 2.0, and a power port.
Both models run on Xiaomi HyperOS and are integrated with the Mi Home app, allowing users to manage smart home devices directly from their TV. Voice control is enabled through Xiao Ai, and the included remote supports NFC screen casting for instant screen mirroring.

In China, the Mi Box 5 is priced at approximately $41, while the more advanced Mi Box 5 Max is available for $69.
