Xiaomi Introduces New Electric Crossover YU7

Xiaomi has officially announced its second electric vehicle, the YU7 crossover, following the success of its SU7 sedan introduced in 2024, which has already surpassed 200,000 units sold.

The new YU7 promises impressive performance: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds, a driving range of up to 835 km, and charging from 10% to 80% in only 12 minutes.

The YU7 will be offered in three configurations:

Standard version: Rear-wheel drive, equipped with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery, offers a driving range of up to 835 km and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.88 seconds.

Pro version: All-wheel drive, same 96.3 kWh LFP battery, 770 km range, and 0–100 km/h in 4.27 seconds.

Max version: All-wheel drive, upgraded to a 101.7 kWh NMC battery, 760 km range, and reaches 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds.

All versions are built on an 800-volt architecture with a peak voltage of 897V. According to the manufacturer, just 15 minutes of charging can deliver up to 620 km of range.

YU7

The YU7 is equipped with the powerful NVIDIA Drive AGX Thor platform, which powers both its safety features and intelligent driving system. It also includes an advanced air suspension system for a smoother ride. The body is constructed using high-strength steel and aluminum, featuring a reinforced front aluminum frame, a protective roll cage, and a hybrid steel-aluminum structure that Xiaomi refers to as an "armor capsule." The battery is enclosed in a robust casing with bullet-resistant protection.

Xiaomi reports that the YU7 underwent more than 50 crash tests to ensure high passive safety standards. Additional reinforcement was added to the front and central body pillars. Each variant comes with a LiDAR sensor, 4D radar, and anti-glare ALD-coated cameras. These systems work together within Xiaomi’s proprietary autonomous driving platform, managing the full driving experience.

According to Xiaomi’s founder, the YU7 will launch in China in July 2025. Pricing has not yet been revealed.
